Upcoming COAST Happenings!

DATE CHANGE: Walking Wednesday – A Behind the Scenes Tour of the Santa Barbara Arts District with Hal Conklin @ Foyer of the Granada Theatre

Hal Conklin, former Mayor of Santa Barbara and first Co-Director of the CEC will lead participants on a unique behind the scenes tour of the heart of our Arts District, the Granada and Arlington Theaters.  He will speak about his involvement with these locations, along with sharing the fascinating history of these local landmarks.

Walk will start at the foyer of the Granada Theatre (1214 State St).

COAST Advocacy Committee Meeting @ Good Cup - Downtown

Join us for our monthly public Advocacy Committee meeting on various transportation topics, including Vision Zero:  Our collaborative effort with the Santa Barbara Bicycle Coalition to end all traffic fatalities and serious injuries.

Join us for our monthly general meeting where we discuss timely and pertinent transportation issues for the region.  Feel free to bring your lunch!

Eastside Neighborhood Meeting @ Franklin Neighborhood Center
Jun 14 @ 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Join us each month as we meet with Eastside residents and MTD representatives and discuss pedestrian safety issues and bus transit services throughout Santa Barbara, Goleta and Carpinteria.  Get your questions answered and submit your requests for improved transit service, bus stop lighting and safety.  Translation provided.

COAST’s Eastside Walks program empowers residents in Eastside Santa Barbara neighborhoods to advocate for improved road user safety, including pedestrian improvements in street and intersection lighting, sidewalk infill, bridge widening, and transit service.

COAST Summer Solstice Party @ Pacific Premier Bank
Jun 23 @ 11:30 am – 2:00 pm

Join COAST as we celebrate the Summer Solstice with front row seats at the parade, tacos, beer, and margaritas! We will also have the World Cup playing on TVs in the bank lobby. One hundred percent of the proceeds go towards supporting COAST’s general programs.

COAST promotes healthy and sustainable ways of getting around, from walking and biking, to taking the train and bus. We coordinate the region’s Safe Routes to School Program, Santa Barbara Walks, Safe Routes for Seniors, and Vision Zero initiative.

We also accept cash, check, major debit/credit cards at the door.

Tickets are a $25 suggested donation. For $30 you get a ticket and an annual COAST membership (new members only)!
